FreeRCT is a free and open source theme park game by the FreeRCT Development Team. It aims to capture the look, feel and gameplay of RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, and the project calls it an early alpha that is already playable. The original RollerCoaster Tycoon was designed and programmed by Chris Sawyer and released in 1999 for Windows.
How to play
- Open the play page and choose Play as Guest, or log in.
- Choose New Game to start with an empty park, or load a saved game.
- Build rides, food stalls, footpaths and flowerbeds, set entrance fees, hire staff, take loans and design your own coasters.
- Right-click and drag to move around the park. The Left and Right arrow keys rotate the view in 90 degree steps.
- Click a ride or guest to open its window.
These controls come from the manual for the desktop game.
