Zombies (Browser Edition) is a fan-made remake of the round-based Zombies mode from Call of Duty: World at War and Black Ops, built on three.js by a single developer, Bortlesboat. Nacht der Untoten is the main, ranked map. Verrückt and Kino der Toten are unranked public betas; Kino follows the Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles remaster. Classic keeps the original rules, HUD and timings; Enhanced adds hitmarkers, playable characters, pings, cosmetics and optional perks on Nacht.
How to play
- Nacht der Untoten loads by default; Verrückt and Kino der Toten are in the map selector.
- Choose Play solo, Host co-op and send the invite link, Join co-op with a friend's link, or Quick Play into a public squad.
- Click Play to capture the mouse; Escape releases it. Controls: WASD move, Shift sprint, mouse fire and aim, R reload, F use and buy, E knife, G grenade, Q swap.
- Press any button on an Xbox or PlayStation controller and the game switches to it.
What you need
- Chrome, Edge or Firefox with WebGL 2 and graphics acceleration, on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. Safari gets less testing.
- Keyboard and mouse or a controller. Phones get a mobile page with experimental touch controls.
- No game files or account. Nacht downloads 50 to 120 MB on computers (about 37 MB on phones), Verrückt a few hundred MB, Kino about half a gigabyte. The browser keeps the files.
Good to know
- Version 0.0.1 came out on October 2, 2026; Verrückt followed on October 16 and Kino der Toten on October 18. Version 0.1.296 shipped on October 31 (updates).
- Squads hold up to four players with voice chat; Enhanced hosts can open squads of up to 16.
- Signing in is optional and syncs progress across devices.
- Gum Tokens, earned by playing, buy Mega Gums for Kino. On October 31, 2026 the token store was not open yet. Runs that use a Mega Gum are unranked.
- Menus are in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. The site calls itself a fan-made remake, not affiliated with Activision or Treyarch.
